(Near-) Instant Gratification

At one of my book events, someone asked me what was the easiest thing you could do to look younger. After thinking for a moment, I replied that it is probably whitening your teeth. Few things give you such noticeable, fast results for such little effort. So in that spirit, here are some other high-payoff, quick changes you can make to look and feel younger by next week.
Whiten your teeth. Combat the tooth yellowing and stains that come with age by using inexpensive whitening strips or trays. You’ll notice results—and take years off your appearance—in just a few days.
Switch up your moisturizer. Dry skin is not only tight and uncomfortable, flaky, and ashy—it can even make wrinkles look 25 to 85 percent larger! Look younger instantly by switching to a facial moisturizer with hyaluronic acid, which holds up to 1,000 times its weight in water, calms inflammation, and boosts production of cells that make and secrete skin-firming collagen.
Update your hairstyle. If you’ve had the same hairstyle for the last decade, even if it’s flattering, it might look dated. Because strands of hair naturally get thinner and weaker with age, talk to your stylist about trying a more modern look that adds volume.
Get more sleep. Yes, it can be hard to carve out enough time to get the sleep you need. But it’s hard to overstate how important sleep is—to your energy, your memory, your stress levels, even your weight. Make it a priority over the next few days, and you’ll feel like a brand-new person. If you have trouble falling or staying asleep, I have lots of suggestions in my book to ensure you get a solid night’s rest, or you can check out the National Sleep Foundation website, or other reputable sites like WebMD.
