This week, Dan and I celebrated our 13thwedding anniversary (!), so in honor of this momentous occasion, I decided to share with you some of my favorite things that have to do with weddings, marriage, and 13. Enjoy!
Weddings
Yes, I endured a new nickname for a while after The Wedding Singer came out, but this sweet movie was worth it.
Wedding Crashers was not my favorite movie ever, but it was one of the first times I saw Bradley Cooper in a role other than Will from Alias (so good!), and I was very impressed.
Marriage
One of the most beautiful songs about marriage I’ve ever heard, Andrew Peterson’s “Dancing in the Minefields” makes me cry every time I hear it.
We read Sacred Marriage by as part of a small group of married couples through our church, and Dan and I agree it does a great job of illustrating what marriage really looks like—and all of its awesome possibilities.
Thirteen
My friend Tarahas a young adult novel, Golden Boy, debuting in summer 2013. She’s part of a great group called The Lucky 13s. Check out all their debuts and fill up your reading list for next year!
13 Going on 30 stars my favorite actress, Jennifer Garner, and it’s just a delightful little romantic comedy. Mark Ruffalo and Judy Greer are also excellent. It will make you want to learn the “Thriller” dance, if you don’t already know it.
