Welcome to the blog!

I’ve been writing about health, fitness, and nutrition for more than 10 years, and living well is a passion of mine. I started this blog with the intention of passing on all the best information I’ve learned and inviting people to ask questions, especially about anything in my book, The 100 Best Ways to Stop Aging and Stay Young (Fair Winds Press, Jan 2011). Don’t have a copy yet? You can buy it here. I’ll be posting items of interest (mostly health-related, but some thought-provoking or just for fun), but YOU will make this blog a success by chiming in with questions or tips that you’ve found helpful and want to share. You can contact me at julia AT maranan DOT org.

Thanks for visiting, and I hope you’ll check back often and contribute to the discussion!

A few questions from your recent Meet the Author that you could maybe comment on here:

Is krill oil as good or better than fish oil as a source of Omega-3s?

What are your views on the recent recommendation to reduce sodium to 2/3 of a teaspoon for high risk Americans?

Do you have research on long term effects of artificial sweetners or know which is the best to use (and why)?

Love the site & the blog! I’m curious too about the Omega-3’s…I read so much conflicting information about the best form of supplements, liquid vs. capsules, how they should be stored…can you sort me out?

Also, ditto those same q’s re: calcium!

I can feel myself looking younger already… 🙂
